I am an experienced and accredited counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor. My theoretical base is person-centred but I draw theory and concepts from other approaches including CBT, where appropriate, to develop and inform my practice. I offer short-term focussed work as well as longer term therapy and can be flexible about the time, frequency and cost of sessions. I also offer couple counselling.
I originally trained as a botanist, then went on to work for multinational companies in a sales and marketing role. Following my heart I then decided to train as a counsellor/psychotherapist and over the past 10 years have worked with a diverse range of clients in the public, private and voluntary sectors. I have worked with many issues including anxiety, depression, abuse, loss and bereavement, relationships, gender and sexual identity and work related concerns.
In addition to my practice based at the Tara Trust, I manage a counselling service in the voluntary sector and am a personal tutor for students undergoing training in counselling at Edinburgh University.
